Sound Oil plc (the "Company")

Director's shareholding

The Company received notification on 7 December 2009 that on that date Jusuf Rachmantio (a director of the Company) sold 500,000 ordinary shares in the Company at a price of 1.7p per share. For personal reasons he intends to sell approximately a further 7,500,000 shares in conjunction by the Bank of Scotland (which holds these shares as security). This is a limited sale and he intends to continue holding his remaining 27.5 million shares (representing approximately 4.0% of the Company's issued share capital).
